Youth Prayer Meetings

Our young people get together every Monday at 7pm for prayer..

Well, we were told we are going to have some of the youth speak to us from their hearts. :) I got a text and guess who was one of the speakers?? Yessss, me. I was so nervous when I got up there.

I'll write what I talked about for you all to know lol
*side note* I didn't say everything I wanted to because I was a nervous wreck..

Basically, my uncle (youth pastor), had told me to talk about what I told him a couple Sundays ago, encourage the youth, God's going to use them, and talk about what's going on in the spiritual realm.

During pre-service prayer on a Sunday night, I couldn't really pray for the service. It's like I couldn't get in the Holy Ghost with that "topic" through prayer. I tried a couple other topics like praying for the lost and for my family & friends. It still wasn't working.. So I began to pray for myself, which I felt like it was selfish lol but it apparently wasn't so. I believe that God told me, "This is what I want to do with you."

There were two different pictures/clips that popped in my mind right after He said that. The first was me speaking to a group of ladies and the second was me speaking to a group of young people.

(The funny thing is, I looked just like I do now. Lol the same everything.)

Every young person has a purpose. I believe it. Of course, you won't do what God has for you if you aren't doing right. We have to be going the right way (that narrow path to Heaven). In our generation of young people, there are going to be preachers, pastors, preacher's wives, and missionaries. I can already see it! Yes, there are those special young people who might have "more annointing" on them, but I KNOW that God wants to use every one of the youth! Even the one person who is on the "edge." If they get their life right, God is going to show them what they need to do for Him.

I have a bookmark in my Bible that quotes Jeremiah 29:11. I don't know what version it is (it's not KJV), but it says, "For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

God has a future for every single one of us!

I would really like to expand what I said last night. (Put more scriptures and examples. Tell about people who felt what God said they needed to do. Etc)

Any suggestions?? I'd really appreciate it.

God bless you all,
Megg :)

Ask God to help you to expand. Seems to me that God wants to deal with you first. There are some things He wants to put into you so that He can use you. Being used of God always starts with a willing vessel. Thats the beginning.

Start reading the bible at looking at examples of young people that were used of God in their young age. For example: David, Samuel, Josiah, Esther, Daniel, Mary (mother of Jesus), etc. You will start seeing characteristics in them that you can ask God to give you. Characteristics you can encourage other young people to have :)

Keep it up! God definitely wants to use our young generation!!

Bible Quizzer

Umm.... I had no idea what I was getting myself into lol! This is my first year of Bible Quizzing and man! I love it!!!!! :D I can't wait to go to the competitions!! :D We have to learn over 400 verses but as Bro. Vick & Brendan said "Don't look at the numbers." It's easier when you don't look at numbers and you just memorize and go over them everyday!!! I'm so excited!!! It has motivated me to get done with schoolwork lol. I hope we have a good (NOOO, a GREAT!) team so we can go to more competitions. :) Fun & traveling! Which teams do you know that are awesome Bible Quizzers?? Do you have any tips for a first time BQ??? :)

Courage in the Altar

It takes courage to walk to the altar (a lot of the time). Especially when you are struggling and going through trials. Most of us feel embarrassed or have too much pride to cry in the altar, shout, or dance in the Spirit. It really does amaze me.. It's like we are intimidated by other women/men.. Have you ever noticed it? Courage: " have the courage of one's convictions, to  act   in accordance with one's beliefs, especially in spite of criticism." (dictionary.com) I've heard plenty of people say, "The day so&so shouts and runs the aisles is when I'll do it." I REALLY don't get it! Do these people not have the revelation of worship, praise, and not to care what others are going to think about them?? Sometimes, worship is a life or death situation. :/ Seriously. You won't give God 100% of your praise... You're holding back.. You won't let loose. The saints of God get victory through prayer and worship.
